Scarecrows

In class we read the story, The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams.  We then talked about the parts that followed the old lady and how when we put the parts together it makes a scarecrow. We made a brace map and talked about parts and whole. The parts would be the parts it takes to make the scarecrow and the whole would be the scarecrow. Each child use the different parts to make their own scarecrow.
Then we used different shapes to make a big scarecrow of our own. Each of them turned out really cute. We have some happy scarecrows and some scary scarecrows.
