Kindergarten - Counting to 100

In Kindergarten, we have been learning how to count to 100. We have been practicing all year long how to count from 1 to 100. We have used charts, and songs to help us with this. We have also practiced writing to 100. Just recently we have started learning how to count by 10's and 5's. Soon we will be learning how to count by 2's. We learned that we have 10 fingers on our 2 hands. So we used our hands to practice counting by 10's. First we painted our hands to make a visual. Then we held up our hands and counted them 10 times. 10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100! The kindergarteners stood in front of the handprints and walked the line while clapping their hands together and counting. We also talked about how we have 10 toes on our 2 feet. We jumped 10 times. While Mrs. Miller was jumping she had to hold onto her tummy (she didn't want to shake the poor baby inside). One for the Kindergarteners started holding their tummy. Another one asked Mrs. Miller why she was doing that. 
Next was learning how to count by 5's. We noticed on one hand we have 5 fingers, so we counted our hand 20 times to get to 100. We also noticed that when counting by 5's each number will end in either a 5 or a 0. 








Preschool - Animals

 

We have learned about different kinds of animals. We sorted animals by where they live (farm, zoo, house or jungle, forest, farm). We sorted animals and made patterns with animals. We made chicken hats, walruses, penguins, and many other animals. We listened to directions and followed directions on how to draw animals. We also made a chart of  different farm animals
