Thanksgiving

We have been learning about Thanksgivng and why we celebrate it. We learned that the Pilgrims left England long ago because the King was said they had to follow his rule sand they did not want to. The took a boat called the Mayflower to find a new home. Many of the Pilgrims got sick and died on the trip. When they found new land there was nothing there. The Pilgrims met the Native Americans. The Native Americans taught the Pilgrims how to hunt, fish and grow crops.
We also learned that Native Americans make totem poles. They carve a big piece of wood to make a totem pole. The totem pole tells a story. We painted boxes to make a totem pole and to tell our class story. We talked about what makes us special and we decided that we all make our class special. We also are learning to read, we play nicely with each other, we like to dance and we are all friends.

We had alot of fun on Halloween. We made Pattern Witches and played roll a number. We all looked so cute in our costumes. The parade was a lot of fun and the party was a hit.

6th grade pumpkin reports

Pumpkin Reports

Mrs. Daugherty's 6th grade class did pumpkin reports. They each picked a book and decorated a pumpkin as one of the characters in the book. The 6th graders came into our classroom to share their pumpkins and read the stories to us. Great Job 6th graders!
