Fire Safety

Today the firefighters from Howard and Moline came to school and we heard about fire safety. We saw the firefighter in their suit and learned that we should not be afraid of them. We learned what not to play with (unsafe things). We got to climb up into the fire trucks and squirt the hose. Mrs. Miller taught us that smoke rises so we need to crawl out of our house if their is a fire. We also need to have a safety plan so that everyone knows what to do and where to go in case the house is on fire. Do you have a safety plan?  We also learned about smoke detectors and that we need to make sure they have batteries that work in them. Please check your smoke detectors.
