We have been practicing how to read CVC words (consonant, vowel, consonant words). We have also been working on word families (-ip, -it, -is, etc.). We are doing a great good reading these words and changing them to make new words. We also are figuring out what words belong in the same word family.

We made cat and the hat hats and Mrs. Miller wrote a word family on the brim of the hat. Then we wrote words that belonged in that family on the stripes of the hat.
